[ Introduction ]
Indole-3-carbinol is a tumor chemopreventive substance, which can be extracted from cruciferous vegetables (such as broccoli, radish and cauliflower, etc.). Indole-3-carbinol can inhibit the occurrence and development of various tumors.

[ Main Functions ] 
1. Indole-3-carbinol can inhibit tumors in various ways, such as inducing apoptosis of cancer cells, blocking the cell cycle of cancer cells, and down-regulating estrogen.

2. The regulatory effect of indole-3-carbinol on estrogen deserves additional mention.
In women, high levels of estrogen and relatively insufficient levels of other sex hormones can cause many problems, including menstrual disorders, fatigue, PMS, and increase the risk of hormone-related cancers such as breast cancer. Indole-3-carbinol can inhibit estrogen synthesis, block estrogen-related pathways, and inhibit estrogen-induced cell proliferation.

3. Indole-3-carbinol can also act on the aryl hydrocarbon receptors of intestinal cells.
Aromatic hydrocarbon receptors regulate the function of the gut barrier and gut immunity-mice lacking aryl hydrocarbon receptors are more susceptible to pathogenic bacteria, leaky gut and intestinal inflammation. The aryl hydrocarbon receptors, when rationally activated (eg, with indole-3-carbinol), can promote intestinal barrier repair and inhibit the carcinogenesis of intestinal epithelial cells.
